Welcome to Southern Comforts Consignments. We have beenAtlanta’s first choice for consigning since 2003 and have made consignment shopping a destination experience. We offer both new and consigned furniture for the savvy shopper, all at fabulous prices. What is Southern Comforts?

Southern Comforts accepts quality, gently-used furniture and home accessories, and displays them in unique vignettes throughout the store. As pieces sell, the seller receives a check for 50% of the selling price.

How do I get started?

Bring any pieces that fit in your car by either store anytime during business hours, no appointment is necessary. For larger pieces, you can either e-mail a picture to jenny@southerncomforts.com to be previewed, or stop by the store anytime with a picture (or even the screen on your cell phone camera!).

Do you offer pick-up/delivery?

We will provide a list of preferred movers for your convenience. We will also be glad to provide assistance loading and unloading at any of our stores.

How long do you keep my items?

Southern Comforts typically sells 95% of consigned merchandise within a 120 day consignment period. The consigner is responsible for retrieving any unsold items at the 120 day mark.

How am I paid?

Checks are ready on the 10th of the month following the month in which items sell. They can be picked up at the store where you dropped your items off, anytime within 6 months of the sale of your items.

How are prices set?

We price at fair resale market value. Like you, we want to get the most that we can for your items. You may bring information, such as the original cost and age of items, and we will use our expertise on current market prices to price your items.

Items are sold at the full ticket price for one month, the second month items are reduced by 10%. During the third month, items are reduced by 20%, and during the final month, items are reduced by 30%. Seasonal items (ie. Christmas, Halloween, etc.) may be discounted at the discretion of Southern Comforts.

  • All items must be clean and in good repair (no chips, cracks, holes, tears, or stains). All items must have an initial asking price of $10 or more. Furniture should be clean, structurally sound, and with no pet damage.

Are there things you do not take for consignment?

  • Infant Equipment (bedding, furniture, etc.)
  • Toys and Pet Supplies
  • Clothes
  • Cutlery
  • Electronics
  • Digital Media
  • Hardware
  • Mattress, Bunk Beds, Platform Beds
  • Bed orBathLines or Window Treatments
  • Unsold Garage Sale Items

Is there fine print?

Although we try our best to provide a secure environment for your merchandise, the items remain your property until they sell or 120 days pass, after which all items become the property of Southern Comforts. You must provide any desired insurance coverage for fire, theft, damage or other losses through your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance.

Checks are void after 6 months. Acceptance of consigned items is always dependent on condition, ability to resell, and space availability in the store.
